1. Who We Are

Celerity Education Data Systems Inc. ("Celerity", "we", "us") provides the Celerity platform — a platform as a service which deploys managed deployments of enterprise infrastructure and applications for education agencies and providers that serve the space to improve outcomes with technology.

2. Information We Collect from Website Visitors

This section applies to visitors of our marketing website (celerityedu.com).

2.1 Website Analytics

  • Anonymized page views via Google Analytics (only with your consent)
  • No personally identifiable information is collected from website visitors
  • No account creation is required to browse the website

2.2 Contact Information (Voluntary)

If you submit a contact form or request a demo, we collect the information you provide (name, email, organization). This information is used solely to respond to your inquiry.

3. Information We Process on Behalf of Customers

This section applies to organizations using the Celerity Data Hub platform. Celerity processes this data as a service provider under contract. We do not own customer data.

3.1 Account Information

  • Name, email address, organization
  • Role and permissions (set by your organization's administrator)
  • Authentication credentials (passwords bcrypt-hashed, never stored in plaintext)

3.2 Education Records

  • Student demographics, enrollment, grades, attendance, and other Ed-Fi data
  • Staff records associated with educational agencies
  • This data is owned by the educational agency and processed solely for service delivery

3.3 Usage and Telemetry

  • API request logs (endpoint, timestamp, response code — no request bodies containing PII)
  • Node health metrics (CPU, memory, disk, network — no user data)
  • Authentication events (login/logout timestamps)

3.4 Billing Information

  • Billing contact name and email
  • Payment processed by Stripe — we do not store credit card numbers

3.5 Information We Do NOT Collect

  • Student data for our own purposes
  • Browsing activity outside the Celerity platform
  • Social media profiles or location data

We never use student education records for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond service delivery.

We do NOT sell personal data. We do NOT share data with advertisers. Google Analytics is used on the marketing website only — not on the platform console.

Law enforcement: We will disclose data only when legally compelled (subpoena, court order) and will notify affected customers where legally permitted.

6. Data Security

  • Encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256)
  • Tenant data isolation (schema-level + row-level security)
  • Role-based access controls
  • Secrets managed via HashiCorp Vault
  • Regular security assessments

7. Data Retention

  • Active accounts: Data retained for duration of service agreement
  • Closed accounts: Data available for export for 45 days; production data permanently deleted thereafter; backups purged within 90 days
  • Logs: Retained for 90 days for security monitoring, then purged
  • Billing records: Retained as required by tax/accounting law

8. Your Rights

Platform Users

  • Access your account data via the console
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request account deletion (contact your organization administrator or privacy@celerityedu.com)

Education Records

Rights to student education records are held by parents/eligible students under FERPA. Requests regarding student records should be directed to the educational agency (school/district). We assist agencies in fulfilling these requests through our platform tools.

9. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Celerity Data Hub is a platform for educational agencies, not a consumer-facing product used directly by students. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Where student data is processed through the platform, it is provided by and under the control of the educational agency, in compliance with FERPA and applicable state student privacy laws.

10. Cookies and Tracking

Celerity Console (Platform)

  • Session cookies — Required for authentication (cannot be disabled)
  • No third-party tracking cookies
  • No advertising pixels or cross-site tracking

celerityedu.com (Marketing Website)

  • Google Analytics — Anonymized page view tracking, only with your consent
  • No student data is processed on the marketing website

11. Changes to This Policy

Material changes communicated via email to account administrators and in-platform notice. 30 days notice before changes take effect. Previous versions available upon request.
